My name is Sue Esterman and I have been a marriage celebrant now for over fifteen years. I am proud to be an independent celebrant, and I believe that helping couples create their wedding ceremony is both a great privilege and a real delight.
Your wedding should be hugely enjoyable, and as unstressful as possible, and that is what I aim to achieve in working with you – to create the perfect ceremony. I know that I can help you create that essential “specialness” which will make your ceremony memorable.
What makes you tick? What are your passions? Helping me learn about you makes it possible to weave some of those elements into your wedding ceremony.
Creating ceremonies which include aspects of your background and heritage is something I am often asked to do. I have a great deal of experience in working with couples where one partner is Jewish, and I enjoy the challenge of creating ceremonies which can interweave different traditions.
Sue is a fantastic celebrant who works alongside you in creating a special day. She was very open to incorporating what we wanted for our wedding day and understood the traditions we wished to include. Sue also came up with many ideas at times when we had no idea and was great at explaining the relevance of the traditions we were including and the values behind them.
Sue is a great friend to me and now also my wife and we could not have chosen anyone more perfect. Thank you Sue you are the best! We would most highly recommend using Sue in any ceremonies that you may be celebrating.” ~ Michael Gray
Sue conducted our marriage at the Begonia House in the Wellington Botanic Garden on 16 January 2016. We cannot speak highly enough of her professionalism and kindness.” ~ Andy and Mark Swan, Sydney.
Not a traditional couple? I am also a civil union and same-sex marriage celebrant.
I believe it’s important for you to find the right person to be your celebrant, and so our initial meeting is always arranged with no obligation on either party.
Maybe you are not looking for a wedding, in which case you could talk to me about – baby naming, renewal of wedding vows, funerals. My years of involvement in life-cycle events in the Wellington Jewish community has given me a great deal of experience in creating suitable welcomes and farewells on all kinds of occasions. In my private life, I am a librarian, musician and mad about food, books, family, travel and my chocolate labrador, Bella.
